If a picture is worth a thousand words, we'll make it two.
Find the full project information timeline here: twothousandwords.deviantart.co…
Artists information here: twothousandwords.deviantart.co…

EDIT: We have now moved past the official signup period! However, that does not mean we will turn down everyone who comes late.

EDIT: Aaand now that our partnerships/groups have been assigned, we are fully closed! HOWEVER, we still may be recruiting emergency writers or artists in case of a dropout, so there could be a chance if you're just stumbling by now...

Writers are free to continue signing up all the way up until claims, since they don't actually do anything until then. If there are any late artists who think they can catch up and make the first draft submissions, then you're very welcome to join up to! Just comment below and we'll let you know if you're alright, most likely you will be :-)

First of all, everyone here make you've read the full project information linked above, and artists make sure to read the artists information. This is very important you know exactly what you're signing up for.

Signups for artists and writers will be open from when this blog goes up (right now!) until June 15, approximately 4 weeks from now. There will be some leeway, but please try to stick to this timeframe. We will continue to accept writers until claiming begins in August, since they don't begin working until then, but we'd prefer you to sign up now if you can so we can get a judge on numbers. Artists, meanwhile, can start working as soon as they sign up.

To signup, fill in the form and then go to the front page and click the "join group" button. It might take a few days to get your applications approved, but as long as you give all the necessary information there's no chance you won't be accepted :-)

Below are the signups forms for writers and artists, to be copied and pasted, filled, and submitted as a comment to this blog. If you'd like to sign up for both, then submit both forms in the same comment. If you have anything else you'd like to mention (any questions or anything you'd like to change), feel free to stick that in too.

The email address is in the forms because most submission of drafts will be through email, and presumably the private conversations between artists and writers too since that will probably involve exchange of files. Even if you choose to submit via sta.sh, we still ask you to provide your email address as it will be our second platform of contact with you if we find you not logging on to deviantART for long periods of time. If you'd rather not put your email here in public, then sent it as a note to Eclectinique and put "already sent" in the form. If you don't use your email very much, then give us a platform you do use be it tumblr, facebook, whatever. It is important you give us a second way of contacting you aside from deviantart.

Now, to explain a couple of the questions on the form. The word minimums for writers, unless there is disagreement, will be 4,000 words for prose and 60 lines for poetry. For the questions about betas, if you don't know what a beta is: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beta_rea… (and art betas as pretty much the same). Answer "yes" only if YOU PERSONALLY want to be or use a beta, please do not say "why not" or "if you want" or "maybe for other people". If we get enough positive responses and it goes ahead, there will be a post like this one asking for betas and signups will be compiled in a list which you can refer to if you'd like to ask someone for feedback and editing before submitting.

I am/am not willing to work with more than one artist: (that is, to write two or more different pieces for multiple artists' works)

I am/am not willing to share my assigned artworks with another writer: (if you'd like to be the only writer writing for your artist or if you wouldn't mind having another writing working from the same inspiration--in the second case you can either work collaboratively with another writer on one written piece or produce a completely separate interpretation)

I do/don't agree with the minimums: (if not please let us know what you'd prefer)

If there are beta signups, I would like to use a beta:

We're not sure yet if we're going to end up with more writers or more artists, so we'll wait and see how signups go to decide whether we need multiple artists to some writers or multiple writers to some artists.

This is open to everyone, guys, remember, so spread the word!

Hope to see lots of comments!

I'm a writer!

Name: sychang18

Email address or other platform: sychang18@student.kis.or.kr (It may get deactivated later on, it's school-controlled; I'll notify you then)

I will (probably) be writing: I'm not sure what prose means, but I tend to write stories instead of poems often, so I guess it counts.

I am/am not willing to work with more than one artist: I AM WILLING! The problem would be having time, and since I'm an artist that's been recruited on an emergency basis, I would have to settle with one artist for now. . . :(

I am/am not willing to share my assigned artworks with another writer: Usually, I like to co-write, but only for my own ideas. So I don't think that'll be possible for this project.

I do/don't agree with the minimums: Not sure what the minimums are, but I can write as long as I want (with the exception of a few chapters that may seem awkward if too long).

If there are beta signups, I would want to be a beta: LOVE 'EM! I can beta both art AND literature, but I CANNOT DRAW. Still, you can trust me to be a trustworthy critic either way.

If there are beta signups, I would like to use a beta: PROBABLY NOT. Maybe some for literature, depends.
